A Little Bit About Me and the Family
I've worn many hats throughout my adult life. I've been a tennis coach, a teacher and more recently a children's book author. Every experience that I have had has made a great impact on my life and I'm so happy to be able to share those experiences here.
Jack the Muse
When my oldest son, Jack, was in the third grade he came to me with a story that he had written for his class. It was such a great concept and something that I had never heard of before. I asked him if I could take his short story and turn it into a poem. With his blessing I sat down at my laptop and an hour later had a first draft of a story that, although has never been published, I believe to be the best thing I have written. I believed so much in this story that I shared it with my family and friends. Their oohs and ahs then led me to seeking out an agent or a publisher willing to take it on and thus began a long journey through the extremely competitive and selective world of publishing children's books. Spoiler alert: That particular book was rejected by every agent and publisher, but after many manuscripts, dozens and dozens of rejections later I finally will have something published.
Liam the Prodigy
Believe me when I say that we love our Liam. He is a fantastic kid. That being said Liam is probably the most sickening person you will ever meet in your life. Everything and I mean everything comes easy to this kid. Struggle with bottle flipping? Liam can do it on the second or third try. Think you're a master at Ski Ball, Liam's first attempt saw him hit the 10,000 point hole 6 times in a row. Tennis, soccer, spelling, math, you name it, he's got it down. I'm not laying all of this out just to brag, but as a warning. If you challenge this child to a contest, no matter how miniscule, he will probably win.
Carter the Squirrel
Carter's our wild one in the bunch. Always on the move and into just about everything. We're sure there's a benefit to his tireless approach to life, but we're not sure what that is just yet, except to wake us up at the crack of dawn and make a sport of terrorizing his older brothers
The Desk
Back in the 1970s my grandmother gifted my grandfather a desk for his personal office. He passed away when I was 7 and my grandmother held onto it until she passed at 99. I absolutely love this desk and it's where I do most of my writing. I'll post a good picture of it soon.
